Artist to Return to Toronto’s Artist Project with new work and gallery shows for 2026

TORONTO, ON – August 15, 2025 – Following the successful sale of two pieces at his recent New York City exhibition and the sale of “Rosie’s (The Motel)” at Toronto’s Artist Project, acclaimed Toronto-based fine art photographer Benjamin Gibson announces his most ambitious project to date: a new series examining climate change through the lens of Canadian landscapes and identity.

The sale of “Rosie’s (The Motel)” – Gibson’s powerful 47″x33″ piece featuring an abandoned, graffiti-covered motel from the COVID-19 pandemic era – brings the available prints of this work down to just one remaining piece, highlighting the growing demand for the artist’s large-format photography.

Gibson, known for his evocative street photography and the deeply personal “Canada Series #1,” is expanding both his artistic scope and medium, incorporating external materials into his gallery presentations for the first time. This evolution marks a significant milestone in the artist’s ongoing exploration of transformation, beauty, and the urgent realities facing our world today.

“This new body of work pushes beyond traditional photography to ask difficult questions about our relationship with the environment,” said Gibson. “I’m challenging myself artistically while asking my audience to stay engaged, fired up, and focused on a reality that demands our attention now.”

The upcoming series represents Gibson’s continued commitment to revealing profound meaning in both the mundane and extraordinary, this time through the critical lens of climate consciousness. Building on the success of his introspective “Canada Series #1,” which captured the artist’s transformative journey across the country, this new work promises to deliver both visual impact and environmental urgency.

Gibson will return to Toronto’s prestigious Artist Project in March 2026, where audiences can expect to see this groundbreaking new work alongside his signature large-format pieces. Additionally, the artist will present a major solo exhibition in Toronto in early 2026, details of which will be announced soon.

“The response in New York and the continued success at Artist Project confirms that there’s a hunger for art that doesn’t shy away from important conversations,” Gibson noted. “This new series will challenge viewers while maintaining the aesthetic beauty that defines my work.”

With only one print of “Rosie’s (The Motel)” remaining available, collectors are taking notice of Gibson’s limited edition approach and the investment potential of his museum-quality works.
